Gimlet
The gimlet is another classic cocktail that requires only three ingredients and is a breeze to make. You can think of a gimlet in the same family of drinks like the daiquiri or the margarita. In this case, the base spirit is gin as opposed to the margarita's tequila or daiquiri's rum. Feel free to use your gin of preference, but I prefer to use a traditional London dry gin. You can learn more about the many types of gin here at our liquor learnings section!
In a cocktail shaker, add water to the sugar cube and use a muddler to dissolve the sugar a simple syrup liquid. To that, add the gin, fresh squeezed lime juice, and about 1 cup of ice. Shake for about 30 seconds and strain into a cocktail glass with a lime wedge garnish.
