Bolivar Citrus Martini

Picture
Martinis are notoriously simple drinks in terms of ingredients. They usually feature 2 ingredients: dry vermouth and either vodka or gin. A lot of people (myself included) will get creative with sugary liqueurs to make flavored martinis, but we discovered that sometimes a little flavor goes a long way.
  • 2.5 Oz Gin
  • 0.5 Oz Vermouth
  • 3-4 Dashes of Bolivar Bitters (Bittercube Preferred)
  • A Quick Squeeze of a Lemon Wedge
  • Lemon for Garnish

Grab a martini glass and add some ice and either water or club soda to chill the glass. Next, grab a mixing glass and add the gin, vermouth, bitters, lemon juice, and about 1 cup of ice. Stir the drink for about 30 seconds. Toss the ice and water out of your glass, and strain the ingredients into the chilled glass. Finally, peel about 3 inches of lemon peel and squeeze to release the essential oils into the drink. Then, drop the peel in and enjoy.
